    “The two-story trullo
    takes you by the hand,
    spiriting you far away
    to an enchanted valley
    where you feel reborn.”

Let yourself be guided by the musicality of this little rhyme. After twists and turns through the Mediterranean herb-scented shrubbery and the forests of the Locorotondo plateau, you’ll find yourself in the small, central square of Contrada Tumbinno, a tiny village atop a hillside high enough to be able to see the Adriatic below.

Waiting for you is a rare, exquisitely charming example of a trullo sovrano—a two-story trullo—both austere and elegant. Walk over the threshold and enter into a dimension that is deeply engaging, even magical.
Welcome to Truly Trulli, a labyrinth of twelve cone-shaped roofs, grouped like siblings holding each other’s hands. And then there are the alcoves, towers, niches fireplaces wells, cisterns and infinite, steeply-pitched roofs called cummerse, a vernacular architectural detail unique to Locorotondo. Truly Trulli’s passionate, meticulous restoration at the hands of Mastro Ciccio has given life to a vacation home that expresses the flavor of an ancient fable.
If you want to live the most authentic experience possible in Puglia, Truly Trulli is the perfect choice. Your vacation will follow the rhythms of your traditional neighbors through their glances, voices and steps.

What was once the trullo home of a neighborhood weaver has become a holiday rental home in Puglia for a vacation that is full of surprises—surprises that you will collect little by little through each gesture and in every small, unexpected pleasure. These moments might appear when sipping an espresso in the precious elegance of a tiny Limoges cup, setting a beautiful table as if you were a choreographer, sleeping under a coverlet woven by hand in the 1800s or relaxing in a Turkish bath immersed in the perfume of essential oils.

The oversight for every one of these minute details is Elena, the owner of Truly Trulli and lover of beautiful of things. Elena knows something about beauty: she spent much of her career at Max Mara, the Italian high fashion house known around the world. For this reason, the women of the neighborhood entrusted her with traditional linens from their own trousseau, hand woven by the very weaver who lived in Truly Trulli so long ago.

Serenity is right at home at Truly Trulli; the rooms mirror the style and refined simplicity typical that is typical of trulli and the home’s functionality doesn’t interfere with its authenticity. Suspended in time, this corner of Puglia is perfect for recharging mind and body. Carla, Elena’s daughter, is a yoga teacher; she would be delighted organize yoga and vegetarian cooking lessons during your stay, an invitation devoted to your well-being with an emphasis on relaxation and levity. And on that note, Carla advises you to arrive here with only the luggage you would bring aboard a sailboat!

Truly Trulli is your home in the Itria Valley, not only as a place to spend the night in Puglia, but as an experience of a lifetime. Here you can rest undisturbed in the library in front of a window overlooking the water, or you can decide to head for the beach itself and dive right in within fifteen minutes. You might relax in a room dedicated to meditation or perhaps the yoga room. What about a horseback ride? There is a stable just down the road. And it’s always lovely to go for a walk in the woods to collect aromatic herbs or, in the evening, to watch the ships as they pass silently underneath the stars. A little further afield, why not visit Locorotondo, Ostuni or Cisternino to savor Pugliese cuisine and nightlife? All this makes for a five-star vacation . . . and the moon, too!
