William Shakespeare is the only one who can lead us to a property whose owners come from the city of Romeo and Juliet. With their deep understanding of romanticism, they were simply charmed by that of the trulli.
Pierluigi is the son of a carpenter who says he was ‘born in a drawer’, while Nicoletta has had Apulia in her heart since she was a child, when she would spend unforgettable vacations in Trani with her grandfather. Theirs is a return to the beauty of simplicity.
It was love at first sight during a holiday in Cisternino: they fell for the Itria Valley and the local hospitality, enthralled by the idea of allowing a unique, fable-like type of dwelling to stand out and to create a wonderful space for themselves, their family and their friends. Welcome to Trullo Country Chic, a corner of Apulia turned into a retreat, a place to return to every year, to relax.
This is a country & chic style of relaxing. Although located in the countryside, the property is filled with stylish touches such as cocciopesto, a refined finish inspired by the Moroccan tradition, which Nicoletta loves very much, or the use of colors including tobacco, geranium and earthy tones, brushed onto the kitchen and bathroom walls as a way of setting off the whitewash in the other rooms.
In addition, speaking of protecting the local heritage, other features include the ancient chianche stone slabs and the ladder in the middle of the living room, leading to the closet under the central cone. The farmyard, which in the past used to become a starlit dance floor, has remained as it was and conveys the owners’ conviviality, with the addition of comfortable spots for lazy summer afternoons, a lovely barbecue/balcony overlooking the valley and a white masonry gazebo for outdoor chats, summer dinners and parties at the trullo… Almost as it used to be…

INSIDE: Trullo Country Chic consists of 3 cones and a lamia that contain 1 double bedroom and 1 bedroom with a double bed or two single beds, 2 bathrooms with shower (of which 1 en-suite), a kitchen, a dining room and a lounge with fireplace.
OUTSIDE: the trullo overlooks an ancient farmyard that includes a brick barbecue and an outdoor shower. The external spaces comprise also a white masonry gazebo with a large table, a sun terrace with sun beds and beach chairs, and a hammock.
The property is immersed in the beautiful countryside of the Valle d'Itria, dotted with olive trees and criss-crossed by dry-stone walls. Private but not isolated.
