The trulli were designed as small, simple and modest dwellings. The owner, originally from Ceglie Messapica, decided to conform to the structure’s original simplicity and, while equipping her holiday home with a fully equipped indoor and outdoor kitchen, a grill-lover-proof barbecue, very comfortable bathrooms and a 12x6 mt pool, she maintained its bond with the past, a past she reinvented and wisely rethought for her family Summer holidays in her beloved Puglia. Her aim was to accurately restore the buildings, with the right materials and techniques and with the traditional use of the trulli in mind: she added practicalities and comfort, guaranteeing the structure’s authenticity.

The plunge into the past binds perfectly to the taste given by the owner, able to combine, as few can do, vintage forniture, contemporary design, custom-made elements made by local artisans, lights that do not follow fashions, palette of colors and fabrics with floral motifs that enhance the rurality of this corner of Puglia.

At Trullo Merita design is like an old friend, but not only ... the highlight of this vacation home is the collection of paintings: at Trullo Merita you will be welcomed by several works exhibited in every room... when you say the art of 'hospitality! And if art is not enough for you, here is a choice of books able to feed even the most avid readers. You will read them while relaxing in a hammock in the shade of a centuries-old olive tree in the quiet of controra, the Apulian siesta, or to hypnotize your little ones at bedtime under a cone-shaped roof.

INSIDE: Trullo Merita is a complex of trulli and lamie that consists of three separated units.
Accomodation is spread across two units: the 6-cone trullo hosts
1 double bedroom, 1 triple bedroom, 1 bathroom with shower, bidet and lavatory, 1 bathroom with lavatory, a living room with day bed in an alcove (niche) between the two bedrooms; the dependance contains two bedrooms with external exit, 1 spacious double bedroom with a living area and 1 twin bedroom served by a bathroom with shower.
The third unit, a lamia adiacent to the trullo, has its own entrance and hosts a bright, comfortably furnished living area with a vaulted ceiling in the local cream-coloured tuff stones, which includes a modern fully-equipped kitchen with large fridge, freezer and oven, dining and living area, a corner with fireplace.
The property is equipped with security alarm system and WiFi.

OUTSIDE: The living area has access to a spacious covered terrace that hosts a build-in kitchen equipped with dishwasher, 6 stove hobs and barbecue, and a large dining table.
The al fresco dining area overlooks a 12X6 meter SWIMMING POOL with a panoramic view over a natural garden of olive and fruit trees, surrounded by a large solarium area and equipped with a separate bathroom with shower and laundry area.
There are several relaxation areas: in the property there is a pinewood with a daybed corner, one with hammocks and another with a table; the trullo overlooks a large farmyard with build-in seats and a table, while on the trullo side there is an area dedicated to outdoor video projections, paved in wood and with comfortable beds.
Trullo Merita is set in a sunny and quiet 1,6 hectar property, nestled in the century-old olive groves of Ceglie Messapica.
