Trullo Nijinsky

A small green oasis suspended on a hill terraced with dry stone walls that, drawing a landscape in the landscape, frame an inviting swimming pool and lead to a trullo with a striking effect ... no, it is not an optical illusion, it’s Trullo Nijinsky.

We are between Ostuni and Martina Franca, in the gentle countryside of the Valle d'Itria embroidered by dry stone walls, locally called "walls", and dotted by trulli, unrepeatable artworks that embellish the rural landscape of this corner of Puglia, making it unique.
Now the vineyard has gone and the building has been transformed into a 3-cones trullo perfectly restored, with 2 bedrooms and a fabulous pool set on a private terrace.

"Among the spontaneous architectural typologies scattered throughout the world, the one of the trulli really enchanted me", says Anna, the owner of this charming holiday home: "Their fairy-tale shape makes this piece of Puglia incomparable".

In addition to the hypnotic appeal of the artefact, Anna was attracted by the position and exposure of the trullo, flooded with light from dawn to dusk.
Light enters and dances, a fluid and light motion. And it is precisely the light that is the true furnishing of Anna's retreat, which has made simple choices: furnishings at a minimum, which require arriving here with only the luggage you would bring aboard a sailboat; raw tones, which create a very relaxing atmosphere; a large hammam-style bath in the en-suite bathroom, which invites to endless relaxation. And lastly many light sculptures, which gracefully soften the rusticity of the stone.

Brightness and lightness are the key words of the hospitality at Trullo Nijinsky. After all, Anna knows something about  levity, being deeply linked to the world of classical ballet. And it is precisely in the name of the lightness that she entitled her trullo to Vaslav Nijinsky, the most famous dancer of the 20th century who, while dancing, never seemed to touch the ground.

INSIDE: The entrance is in the central trullo, that leads into 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a shower room and an alcove with a relax corner.
Both bedrooms are doubles (one has an ensuite bathroom with a large bath tube) and are set inside a trullo cone. They have French beds and don’t have wardrobes, so we advise you to arrive here with only the luggage you would bring aboard a sailboat!
Also the kitchen is under the dome of a trullo roof; it is equipped with induction stove, a small fridge without frizzer, kettle and Italian coffeepot.
All the rooms are provided with mosquito nets.


OUTSIDE: The house overlooks a farmyard paved with chianche (antique natural limestones carved by hand), with a view on a panoramic swimming pool, set on a terrace with lawn.
There is a shaded area under oak trees that hosts a relax corner and a table perfect to have breakfast or outdoor dinners.
There is barbecue, just outside the kitchen.
The property is situated in 3,000 square meters estate.


BOOKING NOTES: Trullo Nijinsky has 4 sleeps in two double rooms and can be rented for up to 4 people.
It is equipped with heating, so that it can be rented all year around.
